#1 Avenue to College Affordability? Dual Enrollment!

Are you a parent wondering how to truly pay for your college-ready high school student’s college dreams? Are you a high school student worried about how you’ll pay for college? You’re not alone. Dual enrollment is the number one way to manage and reduce the overall cost of a college degree. Gateway College and Career Academy is here for you.

Gateway College and Career Academy (GCCA) is an early college public high school dedicated to helping students reach beyond earning a high school diploma into earning BOTH a high school diploma AND college credits. Simultaneously.

If enrolling at age 16 our GCCA students can get two years of college for free —  including — tuition, textbooks, equipment, and materials like computer software, art supplies, even welding equipment…and more!

Gateway College and Career Academy is located onsite at Riverside City College. This streamlines access to all of RCC’s resources and supports. You’re on a college campus while attending high school (when not in a global pandemic and learning remotely). With flexible schedules, self-pacing, multiple options for credits and classes, plus online, in-person and hybrid models — Gateway is YOUR way!

Since 2004 — Gateway students, high schoolers just like you and yours,  regularly and seamlessly transition into their college education via dual enrollment in GCCA and RCC. We have helped so many teens embark on their college journey. Gateway College and Career Academy is your launchpad. Based on your pace and dedication – — we can get you as close to an Associate’s degree — for free —  as you’ll ever find. And since many families don’t qualify for a Pell Grant, GCCA offers an alternate route to college affordability. For those families that do qualify for a Pell grant, save it for the last two years of college!

The rewards of dual enrollment are plentiful and well established. Check out this guide to dual enrollment in California for all the reasons to put the power of dual enrollment to work for you.

High school students benefit from college course-taking opportunities because they gain early exposure to college rigor and requirements. Students who take college courses while still in high school are more likely to:

  • Graduate from high school
  • Enroll and thrive in college
  • Earn a bachelor’s degree in a shorter time
  • Outperform non-dual enrollment students on a range of college outcomes
  • Garner higher GPAs (grade point averages)
  • Accumulate more college credits
  • Succeed in a second year of college and beyond

Gateway College and Career Academy (GCCA) is your partner in all things dual enrollment. We help you meet your dreams head-on with a high school diploma AND college credit — and we share the journey 100% of the way. Our counselors create a unique, personalized graduation pathway with you — to get you across the finish line and onto the next phase of your life. Flexible schedules, life and career readiness skill-building and lots of invested teachers and counselors await. You can definitely do this! Let’s talk!
