Change your Life in ONE Decision!

Even in these complicated times — dreams can come true.

Gateway College and Career Academy (GCCA) can change your life! We firmly believe that all students are capable of being successful college students. No matter what barriers you may have faced in the past or what we are facing now with our public health crisis, Gateway exists to support students like you — to partner with you in defining AND reaching your future goals. High school graduation, college, career. It’s all on the table.

Even in these tumultuous times where COVID 19 may not let us learn together on campus right away, we can support you 100%. Our May 2020 graduating class was our largest yet – despite the disruptions and uncertainty that hijacked their spring semester. EVERY ONE of our Gateway students made it to graduation. You can, too!

This ONE decision — to enroll in Gateway – can get you the high school graduation and college credit you’ve dreamed of… at the same time! Our flexible, unique dual enrollment platform brings these two realities together. Add into that our highly qualified and passionate staff who make time to understand you and are truly committed to your success.  It’s a game changer.

This is why we do what we do! Every one of our dedicated teachers, counselors and Gateway staffers can’t wait to help you. Our supportive college community aligns to meet your needs — and those of every Gateway student. This is how we do it:

Foundation:

Foundation is a 16-week semester with instruction in these core areas:

  • Math
  • English
  • College Readiness Skills

During the foundation semester, our students strengthen their knowledge in these three courses and earn credits towards GCCA graduation requirements.  Our  college readiness course also earns students 4 RCC units.

Fall 20 classes start at 9am with frequent breaks throughout the day. Foundation starts at the first of every major semester; Fall and Spring.** For fall 2020, Foundation will kick off online only until it is safe to return to our campus.**

Transition:

Our transition students take FREE Riverside City College courses and GCCA high school level courses to complete their diplomas, explore their interests and make plans to achieve their dreams.

While completing the requirements of a diploma, our Transition students enrich their lives with a wide variety of college courses that move them closer to their goals.

Bridge:

The Bridge program connects students with Gateway College and Career Academy after the main semesters have begun.

Bridge students integrate into the school culture, complete partial credits and gain valuable life skills through community enrichment programs. You can go at your own accelerated pace, bringing you closer to the goal, a HS diploma!

With a counselor and teacher dedicated to this small group, GCCA’s primary goal for our Bridge students is to get a head start on the next step in your new journey.

Gateway Flex!:

This is the newest addition to the GCCA program options. Gateway Flex is designed for students who have limited ability to attend in-person classes. Students are able to take a mix of in-person, hybrid, and fully on-line courses, including online college credit courses and academic support sessions.

Flex students have a dedicated counselor who will learn each student’s needs, create a flexible educational plan, and adapt class schedules every semester according to each student’s personal needs.

You are stronger than you know! Make this one decision to join us. And change your life.

Gateway College and Career Academy (formerly Gateway to College) is an early college public high school launched in 2004, as an answer to the growing number of students who were disconnected from their education and not on track to obtain their high school diplomas. Our highly qualified teaching and counseling staff supports and guides our students on their educational pathways, establishing a bond of trust and the motivation to make it to the finish line.

Riverside City College is an ideal partner, helping our students transition to college education via concurrent enrollment in GCCA and RCC, and giving access to all of the college’s resources and supports. You belong here!
